Welcome to Nazareth Class
The teachers are Mrs Cousins and Mrs Hudson supported by Mrs Munson and Mrs D’Arcy.
From September, the learning in Nazareth will be play-based. Play-based learning is proven to support progress and attainment and is therefore the most suitable method of teaching and learning for young children in KS1. We know that by letting children explore and engage in a range of play-based activities they can develop all sorts of knowledge and skills as learners. In order to document our learning we will be using an online learning journal called Seesaw which is similar to Tapestry. Photos can be added by staff, children at school and also at home. I will explain this further at our Induction meeting. Each week you will receive a class newsletter which will detail what we are currently learning and how you might help.
The topics we are going to cover are:
|Topic||Fire and Ice||Now and Then (History)||Beyond the Sea|
Holidays and Holydays
|Animals including Humans
If you’re looking for ways to support your child the following website will be helpful:
There will be parents’ evenings in the Autumn and Spring terms. In the Summer term, parents will receive a written report.
The children can collect house points for effort, work and behaviour. Each half term, the house with the most house points will have a non-uniform day.
On your child’s birthday, we ask that they do not bring sweets for their friends, but if they would like to donate a book to the class for the book corner instead, then it would be greatly appreciated. They can also come to school in their own clothes on their birthday, or on the nearest school day if their birthday falls at the weekend.
